Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

There's one thing you should know about me. I. Love. Christmas. Probably more than I love Disney. But Disney is a very close second. See, I've even got a shirt that says so!

Combining two things I love so much, Christmas and Disney, it's a match made in heaven.

Every year, from early November until mid-December, on select nights, the Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It's a special ticketed event, requiring the purchase of an event ticket(your regular park admission won't cover the event). The party starts at 7 pm and runs until midnight, but your ticket will get you into the park as early as 4 pm.

The park is decked out from top to bottom.

Nobody does Christmas decorations like Disney. Everyone, from cast members to the Dapper Dans to the characters, is dressed in their finest festive attire.

Guests attending the party will be given a special wristband so cast members are able to tell who belongs in the park after the party starts.

Once the party starts, there are so many ways to have fun! You can find normal characters for meet and greets and characters that only come out for the party, like Mr. Popper's Penguins, the Seven Dwarves and the Country Bears(fair warning, those bears are feisty!).

During the party, there are different areas where you can pick up free cookies and cocoa.

You can also catch the special Christmas parade. All of the characters and floats are decorated for the holiday and there's even a special guest in the parade. Spoiler alert: It's Santa!!!

There are also fun dance parties with awesome music and more special characters. Club Tinsel and DJ Cane put on a rockin' good time!

My favorite part of the evening is snow on Main Street USA. If you've been dreaming of a white Christmas, Florida isn't usually the place to be. Disney fixes that for you. Through the night they create a winter wonderland down Main Street USA, giving you the feeling of being stuck in a snow globe. My only word of advice when enjoying the snow, don't stick your tongue out to catch the snow flakes. Just don't.

Here are a few extra tips to help make the most of your night:

If you aren't all that interested in the parade, it's a great time to jump on the rides! Many of them you can practically walk right on. I hopped on Splash Mountain with no wait at all and was able to ride in a boat completely on my own. If you've seen all of the famous posing pictures of people on this ride, it's an awesome opportunity to create an epic picture of your own!

Bring something to keep you warm. While it is often warm enough at this time of year, you don''t realize how chilly it can get at night. Bring a sweatshirt or a jacket, and a blanket for the kiddos, just in case.

With the park open late, Starbucks on Main Street is still open and ready to provide for all of your caffeine needs, if the hot cocoa isn't quite enough.

So if you are looking for something extra special for your trip during the holiday season, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is the perfect way to get you in the spirit!
