Coming in the summer of 2017, Disneyland's California Adventure theme park will be expanding it's Marvel presence with the new attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy-Misson: Breakout!
If you're a Marvel fan like me, you are positively giddy over the news from this past weekend's San Diego Comic Con. Next summer, an all new immersive experience will put you right into the middle of the Collector's palace of collections, where his newest treasures, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Peter Quill, Groot and Rocket Racoon(aka the Guardians of the Galaxy) are on display.
But if you aren't so much a Marvel fan and more a fan of the classic Disney rides, you may be pretty bummed to find out where this new ride is going and what it's replacing...
That's right folks, if you are big on Tower of Terror, well get all of the drops into the Twilight Zone in that you can before early 2017, because it'll be closing to make way for this new GotG ride. This news has been a rumor for a few months and it's finally confirmed. Some people are disappointed with these plans but Marvel's reach is growing by leaps and bounds and will continue for several years to come. And if you need the Tower of Terror in your life, the ride will still be very much available for you to check in at Walt Disney World in Florida.
The Tower of Terror will be transformed into an all new, audio and visual effect-loaded free falling super adventure(super, see what I did there?). You'll join Rockey Racoon on his quest to free the Guardians from the collection of Taneleer Tivan.
I'm excited to see how this turns out! How about you? Are you sad to see the Tower of Terror go, excited for this new experience or a mix of both?
