When you’re planning your vacation to Walt Disney World, one of the biggest decisions to make is where you and your family will eat! There are so many mouthwatering choices within the parks and at Disney resorts that it can sometimes seem overwhelming! Especially if you would like to have some amazing character interactions during your meal! Character dining options are not just for kids, even adults can relish in the delights of meeting their favorite friends! We’ve compiled a list of our top 5 favorite character dining experiences at Walt Disney World to help you make those difficult decisions! You honestly can’t go wrong with any character dining picks and it was terribly hard to only pick 5 (so we may have cheated a little ?)
1. Garden Grill: Epcot, Future Land Pavilion
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Characters: Chip, Dale, Mickey, Pluto
Dining Plan Accepted: YES
A completely unique dining experience all on its own, the Garden Grill in Epcot serves freshly prepared dishes using food grown in the greenhouses of the Living with the Land attraction. As you dine, the floor will slowly (very slowly, almost unnoticeably) revolve so your view of the attraction is always changing. Chip and Dale, Mickey and Pluto will visit your table multiple times for a very relaxed character dining experience. American inspired dishes are served family style which is great for families with children, no need to get up and stand in a buffet line here! We recommend the delicious macaroni and cheese! The Land Pavilion itself is home to one of the most popular attractions at Epcot, Soarin’ and the Living with The Land attraction, where some of your food has been harvested; so, it’s a wonderful place to spend some time!
2. ‘Ohana: Disney’s Polynesian Resort
Breakfast, Dinner Note: characters only at breakfast
Characters: Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto
Dining Plan Accepted: YES
If you are looking a truly unique tropical feel to your meal, you need to try ‘Ohana. ‘Ohana means family and that’s exactly what it feels like! At breakfast, delicious favorites with a Polynesian twist are served family style while Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto come around and mingle with you. Super fun and interactive, you may even find yourself in a hula hoop contest or conga line! We recommend the Stitch Juice and the breakfast potatoes are to die for. It’s important to note that there are no characters at dinner, but we highly recommend it just the same! It’s an array of skewer style options with the same Polynesian flare and totally delectable!
3. Tusker House Restaurant: Animal Kingdom, Harambe Village Square
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Characters: Donald Duck, Mickey, Daisy Duck, Goofy
Dining Plan Accepted: YES
Classic characters are dressed in their coolest safari gear ready to visit at this yummy African and Indian inspired dining experience. Dishes are served buffet style but there’s nothing basic about it! Spices and flavors of these authentic dishes plus family favorites make this restaurant a great choice! For the non-adventurous eater, traditional American favorites are served as well. Tusker house is also an option for the Rivers of Light dining package which allows you fastpass access to the new Rivers of Light show when you have dinner there.
