Disney On a Budget

"I can't afford Disney." This is something we often hear but did you know that a trip to Disney World can be within most budgets? Let's talk about a few things:

Current Vacations

Do you currently go on vacation? A lot of people in my area visit Myrtle Beach. When I talk to them about cost they often give me prices of $2000-$2500 when you account for hotel, car, gas, food, and entertainment. As of current pricing, you can take a family of four to Disney in March of 2018 for less than $2800 including hotel, 5-day Park Hopper tickets, entertainment in the parks, and resort pools.

Budget

Disney makes it easy for you to budget for your vacation. You can put a $200 down payment on your package and you have until 30 days before you travel to pay it off. If you were to book a vacation in October 2018 today that would give you 15 months to pay it off. You can also use money savers such as purchasing gift cards at a discount from Sam’s Club or at Target with your Red Card. We would be happy to apply them to your package.

Timing

When you go matters. If you want to do Disney a bit cheaper look at going on the off season such as February or September. Florida has warm weather year-round(but isn't immune to a cold snap during the winter months) so you can get a break from the winter and save some money while you are at it.

Food

The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to budget for food while you are at Disney. You can also plan to do a meal or two in your room. Most rooms include a mini-fridge and you can swing by a local grocery store to pick up staples such as milk and cereal for a quick breakfast in the morning or some sandwich items for a bite to eat after a day in the parks or have groceries delivered to you resort.

Resort Choice

Disney has over 25 resorts to choose from on property with prices to fit nearly any budget. For the budget conscious, think about an All-Star Resort. The prices at these properties are often on par with other hotels in the Orlando area.

Use a Travel Agent

The services I have are free when you book your vacation with them. You pay the exact same as booking with Disney. One of the big benefits is they will watch for specials and apply them to your package automatically saving you money and helping your budget.

These are just a few things to consider when you think that you could never afford a Disney vacation. With a great travel agent, booking early, and proper budgeting you can have the magical vacation you have been looking for!
