Romance at Walt Disney World

Valentine's Day is upon us! In honor of everyone's favorite romantic holiday, All In Vacay gives us some great ways to add a little romance to your Walt Disney World vacation.

Love is in the air, especially at Walt Disney World! Here’s a list of our favorite romantic things to do while at the happiest place on Earth!

At the Resorts

You will find a special romance in the air at almost all Disney resorts but there are a few that have an extraordinary feeling of love.

Disney’s Port Orleans resorts (Riverside and French Quarter) are loved by many and with good reason. Riverside is themed with casual Southern charm and French Quarter will give you the Big Easy feel. Take a stroll along the banks of the river at night or hop on a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the resort. Before you leave, take my advice and split a beignet with your love; you won’t regret it!

Another fun yet romantic resort is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Delight in authentic African cuisine and wines at Jiko restaurant before strolling the grounds of this amazingly decorated resort with African art and culture aplenty. Take a look out over the animal filled Savannah or take a nighttime safari to evoke some adventure!

If fun and games are for you, then you must head over to Disney’s Boardwalk. Step onto the quarter mile boardwalk where you can find midway games, street performers, nighttime entertainment such as a piano bar and dancing, refreshing beverages, and delicious dining options! Rent a surrey bike and really get going! Strolling around the area, you will find Friendship boat rides, a peek at numerous resorts, and even a stop for ice cream. Epcot is only a short walk away and you can even grab a spot to watch the Illuminations fireworks!

For another fun date night, head over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! Hoop-de-Doo Revue is a hilarious and engaging dinner show located at Frontier Hall. Afterwards, jump on a relaxing and romantic horse-drawn carriage ride around the resort.

Some of the most romantic dining options are found right in the resorts of Walt Disney World! The most widely recommend of which is the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You’ll experience the flavors of the Pacific coast with gourmet and delicious options all while overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle. End your night with prime viewing of Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After fireworks with the music piped in for added pleasure!

Other amazing signature gourmet dining experiences that will knock your socks off are Victoria & Albert’s and Citrico’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Tours and Specialty Cruises

A fun idea for a date night is the Highway in the Sky Dine Around. Using the monorail, you will visit the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts partaking in spirits and food at each location. Ending back at the Contemporary for delicious desserts and a prime viewing of Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After fireworks!

If you find yourself at Disney Springs, try out the Venezia Champagne Cruise or the Vintage Amphicars. The Venezia Champagne cruise is aboard a 40-foot Italian water taxi with a guided tour of Lake Buena Vista and ends with champagne toast and chocolate covered strawberries. The Amphicars are vintage 1960s vehicles that drive right into the water for a 20-minute tour of the lake! You will have an Amphicar captain to drive you, so all you need to do is sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery!

If fireworks and desserts are your idea of romance, then you are in luck! There are quite a few options for you. First is the Ferrytale Fireworks Dessert Cruise. Cruise over the Seven Seas Lagoon on a ferryboat loaded with specialty beverages and tons of sweet treats! Finish your night with spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks display, Happily Ever After.

There are also fireworks desserts parties at 3 theme parks if you are not interested in cruising. Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios all offer parties for their nighttime shows complete with sweets and beverages in prime fireworks viewing locations!

Be Spoiled and Pampered

The best part about a Disney vacation is that you can mix fun and relaxation in at the same time. The best place to do that is at the spa! Head over to Senses at Grand Floridian or Saratoga Springs Resorts and indulge in the ultimate form of romance and relaxation-couples massage. Senses is a full-service spa, so you can also partake in body treatments, nail services, facials etc.

Want to spoil your significant other? There are so many options for you to choose from! Disney Springs is a bustling marketplace with boutiques, live entertainment and exquisite dining options! With numerous shops including Alex and Ani, Pandora, and Ever After Jewelry Co, there is something for every taste!

Also, a classic and timeless way to say, “I love you” is with flowers. You can have flowers and gifts sent directly to your room from Disney Floral and Gifts!

At The Parks

Let’s face it, some of the best spots in all of Walt Disney World for romance are found right inside the four theme parks. They are filled with magic whisking you away to a dream world! Whether its smooching in front of Cinderella Castle, watching Ariel and Eric fall in love at Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Hollywood Studios, or getting caught up in the beauty of Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom, there is romance all around!

One of my personal favorite romantic things to do at the parks is strolling thought the World Showcase at Epcot at night. Each country is lit up in its unique style and transports you to each land with every step. The amount of dining options is limitless as well as delicious beverages and desserts. For a very relaxing and romantic ambiance, head to the Mexico pavilion for a bite to eat and a margarita at San Angel Inn. I like to get dessert in France (who does it better?!) and watch the Illuminations fireworks overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon. You can even head into the Japan pavilion and pick your own pearl for a jewelry masterpiece!
