What Does the Future Look Like for Disneyland & WDW?

There’s never been a more thrilling time to be a Disney fan! Both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California are gearing up for a wave of magical transformations, with brand-new attractions, immersive lands, and reimagined experiences on the way. Whether you're a seasoned annual passholder or planning your very first visit, the parks are evolving in exciting ways that promise even more wonder, adventure, and unforgettable memories. From coast to coast, the magic is expanding—and it’s time to get excited for what’s next!

Disneyland has recently announced the closure of an underrated attraction (in my opinion) to make room for a new adventure-filled attraction. Yes, Monster’s Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue! will permanently close early 2026 to make room for the new Avatar experience. While the depicted art seems different from the set at Walt Disney World in Florida, I wonder what could be in store for the attractions, entertainment, and food! Currently, the Hollywood Land contains Animation Academy, Schmoozies!, Hyperion Theater, and other retail locations. While there are still no official dates announced for closings and construction, the new immersive experience will be absolutely stunning!

Another recently announced experience is “Coco” attraction! Where will this be located? Inside Disney California Adventure Park! Near Pixar Pier and Paradise Gardens Parks there is a hidden backstage area that is being transformed into the attraction. Disney Destinations states that construction is set to begin this fall, but there is not an official date for completion yet.

It has also been stated that there are future plans underway for Avengers Campus! This project will add two new attractions to the land and double the size of the area.

Heading to Walt Disney World, even more construction is taking place! First, the official farewells have been said to Muppet*Vision 3D as the doors have closed for the very last time on June 7, 2025. This was to  make way for the new Monster’s Inc. area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While we said goodbye to the Muppets at Mupper*Vision 3D, they are being reintroduced in 2026 over at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. This reimagined attraction will open sometime in 2026. Aerosmith will still be the main theme of the attraction for the remaining time of 2025, before it closes in early 2026 for the refurbishment.

The next big adventure for Walt Disney World is Piston Peak National Park! Not sure what I’m referring to? A Cars themed land will be joining Disney’s Magic Kingdom right in Frontierland. The new area is taking over Tom Sawyer Island, Rivers of America, and even the Liberty Square Riverboat which means those areas will close to guests on July 7, 2025.

Pikes Peak will blend in with the park location, just like the other immersive attractions. Disney Destination is using what is called “Parkitecture” to blend the land in. This was designed by the National Park Service to create a natural environment that resembles a National Park. A tree line will be the barrier for the outside “world” to keep the immersion aspect there.

Just around the corner, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been slated to open next year, but just behind the attraction the new Disney Villains themed land will be joining the fun. The Disney Villain area is expected to have two attractions, dining options, and merchandise locations!

The future years to come will be even more exciting and magical at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. This however doesn’t mean you should wait to visit! Book your magical vacation now using All In Vacay to experience the magic for your family vacation!

To continue the party, there are DJ parties throughout the park at Frontierland, Tomorrowland, and even the stage at Cinderella Castle from 7pm to 10pm. EPCOT also displays an amazing nighttime spectacular each night called “Luminous the Symphony of Us” each night.
