Adventures by Disney: Arizona & Utah – A Journey Through the Southwest

If you’re looking for an unforgettable way to explore the majestic landscapes of the American Southwest—without the stress of planning every detail—Adventures by Disney’s Arizona & Utah vacation is the perfect choice. This 8-day, 7-night guided tour blends stunning natural beauty, rich cultural history, and a touch of Disney magic, all wrapped into one epic adventure.

Day 1: Welcome to the Desert Southwest

The adventure began as we arrived in Phoenix, where we were greeted by our two Disney Adventure Guides who took care of everything from the get-go. After a scenic drive through Arizona’s sun-drenched terrain, we arrived in Sedona, surrounded by awe-inspiring red rock formations. We checked into the stunning Enchantment Resort, nestled right into the landscape. Our evening kicked off with a warm welcome dinner and a taste of the local culture, setting the tone for what’s to come!

Day 2: Off-Road Excitement in Sedona

After a hearty breakfast at the resort, the excitement kicked into gear with a Pink Jeep Tour through the rugged desert trails around Sedona. This off-road adventure offered thrilling views and a unique way to get up close with the natural surroundings. We had time in the afternoon to explore Sedona’s artsy downtown, visit local shops, or simply relax at the resort and soak in the peaceful desert vibes. The decision was completely ours! We had dinner on our own at the resort (the reservations were taken care of by our tour guides)!

Day 3: Wonder of the Grand Canyon

Our group packed up and headed north, journeying along historic Route 66, with time to explore one of the charming roadside towns called Williams. By mid-afternoon, we arrived at the Grand Canyon, where some of us were able to get our very first view of the canyon rim. It was nothing short of breathtaking. We checked into Grand Canyon Lodge, right on the rim, so the canyon was never more than a few steps away.

Day 4: Discovering the Grand Canyon

Today was all about experiencing the Grand Canyon from every angle. A guided tour by a local resident helped us understand the geology, history, and sheer scale of this natural wonder. Most of us opted to hike along the Trail of Time while others took in the views at their own pace. It was a powerful and peaceful day that brought a deeper appreciation of this iconic landscape.

Day 5: Navajo Culture and Monument Valley

We packed up and headed northeast through tribal lands to arrive at Monument Valley, one of the most photographed places in the U.S.A. We were able to experience a guided tour by Navajo hosts, which offered an authentic look at the land and its significance. This evening, we enjoyed a special Navajo cookout (which was supposed to be under the stars but the weather had other plans so we flawlessly pivoted to Plan B inside), complete with storytelling and music—a powerful and memorable cultural experience.

Day 6: River Adventures and Arrival in Moab

The journey continues into Utah, where we settled into the gorgeous Hoodoo Moab right in the heart of downtown Moab. The highlight of the day was a scenic rafting trip down the river—exciting but family-friendly, with jaw-dropping views of red rock canyons along the way. The rest of the day was ours to relax, explore the lodge, and do some shopping in Downtown Moab.

Day 7: Arches National Park and a Western Farewell

An early morning start took us into Arches National Park, where we were surrounded by more than 2,000 natural stone arches and rock formations. Some members of our tour chose the gentle trail while others challenged ourselves with a moderate hike—both offering unforgettable views. Back at the lodge, a group of us opted to explore the petrified sand dunes and sandstone cliffs via a UTV tour. The day wrapped up with a farewell dinner, complete with live Western music and a chance to reflect on all the memories made.

Day 8: Farewell from the Southwest

After one last breakfast at Hoodoo Moab, Disney took care of transportation to Grand Junction Airport, and our journey came to a close. We all left with a camera full of photos, a head full of stories, and a heart full of adventure.
