What to Do on a Rainy Day at Universal Orlando

Summer brings so many things to the theme parks in Orlando. Rain is actually a big part of that, which can be unfortunate for your vacation but living in the moment and enjoying what you can will make it just a bit easier. At Universal Orlando Resort the possibilities are endless when the sky opens up and the rain comes down (hopefully not for too long).

Both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure offer many options to spend some time out of the rain. From dining, shopping, and even indoor attractions, there are ways to escape the rain to stay dry.

Have you considered visiting resorts during inclement weather? All of the Signature Collection resorts offer delicious dining options and shopping. The decor at the resorts is also breathtaking, and absolutely worth exploring. All of the resorts are accessible by the bus transportation offered from Universal CityWalk, and some even have water taxi transportation.

If you want to embrace the rain, even a water attraction could be fun! There are three at Islands of Adventure; Jurassic Park River Adventure, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, and Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. Two of the three you get absolutely soaked! These attractions may close depending on the severity of the weather, the Universal Orlando app is the best way to keep track of the attraction closures.

Universal Studios Florida offers ten attractions that are inside, and is a great way to wait out the weather. Universal Islands of Adventure only offers five attractions. Both offer many shopping options.

Attractions and shopping isn’t the only way to experience the parks. There are also multiple shows that are great ways to stay dry. DreamWorks Imagination Celebration brings together many DreamWorks characters together with music for a fun-filled stage show. While the Bourne Stuntacular is an action packed adventure show.

Did you know that your Universal Express Pass also works at some of the shows?

If you’re not heading to the parks and the weather is not perfect, bowling is the perfect way to spend the afternoon! Galaxy Bowl can be found at Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort. The bowling alley also offers a full-menu to keep fueled while you’re having fun.

Universal CityWalk not only offers an array of dining options and shopping, there are also other ways to spend a rainy day. Movie anyone? Universal Cinemark offers the latest films. Wanting to be more active? Universal’s Great Movie Escape is an escape room that has two different experiences. The first is Jurassic World: Escape and the other is Back to the Future: OUTATIME.

Being at Universal during a rainy day doesn’t have to be a bad experience. Summer brings those pesky afternoon storms, but there are so many ways to spend it. All In Vacay can help you prepare for the best vacation, reach out today!
