The Beak and Barrel: Where Swashbucklers Sip

A few months ago, it was mentioned that a new lounge was opening inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The Beak and Barrel, a new lounge themed after “Pirates of the Caribbean” was announced, retracted the projected opening date, and now re-announced!

We understand, delays happen. Previously it was announced that The Beak and Barrel would be open for a soft launch during select Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties, then that information was taken back. But now, Disney Destinations has announced that the lounge will officially open to guests on August 29, 2025, which is actually earlier than expected! Reservations for the lounge will begin on August 14, 2025. We also now have a look at the menu!

Not only does the lounge offer quick bites and beverages, but it also will feature storytelling, sing-alongs, and magic around every corner!

The Beak and Barrel is family friendly, so the menu does offer non-alcoholic beverages on the menu. The first item, The Treasure Trove, features flavors of ube, lemon, and coconut. The next fun drink is The Cursed Treasure which is made with a coconut milk and cookie crumb base that is topped with a vanilla foam, and of course a pirate cookie!

For the adults, a Salty Seas MaARRRgartia and Siren’s Whisper are up first. The margarita is purple in color from ube and has flavors inspired by Southeast Asia. The Siren’s Whisper is a beautiful bright blue color and has a citrus and spice flavoring which is inspired by the films Aqua de Vida.

Barrels Ablaze definitely comes in strong with Jack Daniel’s Bonded Bourbon, honey, and a hint of spice. While a sweeter option comes in the form of a rum drink topped with prosecco named Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale.

When the food options come into play, you may have to be open to trying new things and somewhat adventurous. Kraken’s Catch is a cold salad, but the twist is that it is served with a lemon and lime marinated octopus tentacle. The salad also consists of a mix of bell peppers, avocado, olives, and topped with a Piquillo pepper-almond foam.

These food items are not as adventurous, but the Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes sound delightful! Choosing between the roasted corn and poblano peppers or the chipotle-braised chicken will be one tough decision. Both options are served on a warm corn cake that is filled with melted cheese, a lime sour cream, chili peppers, and a sprinkle of cotija cheese.

To share Island Provisions has a variety of dips served with blue corn tortillas, plantain chips, and toasted flatbread pieces.

Of course, The Beak and Barrel will have its own merchandise! A Parrot Shoulder Plush and The Beak and Barrel T-shirt can be found at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, which is just next door to the lounge. There may be more, but that is everything that has been announced so far.

The earlier opening is so exciting! The lounge is not going anywhere so be sure to make it a must-see during your next Walt Disney World vacation! Reach out to All In Vacay to plan your next pirate adventure!
